I love to eat out and am always looking for new places to go. This week I finally made it over to Johnny Rebs’ in Orange. I was a long overdue visit and was worth the wait. If you haven’t seen this place it’s not much to look at - but that is part of the charm! When you first walk up to the door you hear crickets chirping. The exterior is kind of a “shack.” Inside is very “rustic.” There are peanut shell all over the floor and the atmosphere is very laid back.
If you like barbeque and southern style food this is the place for you. Portions are very big and prices are reasonable, $10 to $15 per person. The especially liked the sweet potato fries. I also hear the fried green tomatoes are good but I’ll have to try them next time! If you haven’t been to Johnny Reb’s yet, I would recommend a trip on over there.
